Pleasanton council shelves east side development plan, for now

PLEASANTON — The City Council decided Tue not to prioritize a plan for the east side of town that, if developed, could have included more than eight hundred homes.

Developer Stephen Dunn, of SteelWave, addressed the council at its priority planning workshop Tue night and asked to prioritize the East Pleasanton Specific Plan. The council halted development of the 1,100 acres of the rock quarry house in 2015, citing concerns such as the drought at the time.

“It’s just too soon,” she said. “The drought is not over.”
