East Pleasanton developer wants to build 800 homes; skeptics say no rush

Published Friday March 10

PLEASANTON — Although the city stopped planning for the east side of town 2 years ago, a developer now is making a push to start the process again for more than eight hundred homes.

Stephen Dunn of SteelWave plans on attending the City Council’s priority planning workshop on Tue and is expected to ask the council to put the East Pleasanton Specific Plan back on board.

The council halted the specific plan for the 1,100 acres of old rock quarry house citing concerns such as the drought. There were also concerns about traffic the project, which called for 1,300 properties at the time, would create and school overcrowding.
